A founding member of The Light Factory Photo Arts Center in 1973, Byron Baldwin also taught photography at Myers Park High School and area colleges and universities for more than 35 years. His work has been exhibited widely throughout North Carolina and the Southeast.
A longtime Plaza Midwood resident, Chuck Paty enjoyed sharing his experiences growing up in the neighborhood in the 1920s and ‘30s. He served in World War II and was a decorated US Navy veteran. An avid photographer, Paty’s work includes some of the few remaining photos of the Central Avenue corridor in the 1940s.
A photojournalist for The Charlotte Observer from 1972-1983. He was the 1975 Southern Photographer of the Year.
